“Just back from the Top End and Kimberley Cattle Tour. What an amazing eye opening tour with huge wide open spaces, very large (up to 2million ha) cattle stations many thousands of cattle and very genuine people we met on this trip. If I was in my 20s I would be over there like a shot gaining the experience of living and working in this area. A tour we would recommend for anyone wanting to see one of the last outposts in Australia. There is so much to rave on about but not enough space!!”
There’s no place more unique, diverse, and stunning than the Outback of Queensland!
The Channel Country is one of the most sparsely populated areas of Outback Queensland, but what it lacks in people, it makes up for in cattle. Fed by rivers, including the Georgina, Diamantina and Cooper Creek, the Channel Country is a region of braided channels that come to life after rain, producing rich cattle-fattening pastures. This is where Sir Sidney Kidman, the legendary Cattle King, carved out an enormous cattle empire. Visit renowned cattle stations, meet the people and get to understand their resilience, why this raw and unpredictable country is their life, and what makes the outback so special!
This tour operates away from the tourist areas, so accommodation and transport are not what you’d find in more conventional areas.
